UHF Backup Communication – For Maximum Reliability

Why UHF backup communication?

In recent years, we’ve only rarely encountered communication issues due to weak GSM coverage or network quality. These situations were usually location-specific and had limited impact on buoy functionality.

However, since 2024, new types of disruptions have emerged—especially in areas with advanced security technologies (e.g., anti-drone systems). These not only degrade GSM communication but can block it entirely. With the current global security climate, such cases are becoming more common.

This is why we developed a UHF backup communication system, now available for both new buoys and as a retrofit kit for existing systems.

How it works:

Fully automatic switching: The buoy constantly monitors the GSM connection (signal strength and data throughput).
If a problem is detected, it automatically switches to the UHF radio network – no user action required.

Who should consider it?

Recommended for:
Operations in security-sensitive areas (e.g., near military zones, airports, energy infrastructure)
Countries with strict communication regulations or unreliable GSM networks

Examples of relevant regions:
United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, China, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Germany

Our recommendation:
Ideal for all users who demand 100% communication reliability under all conditions.
