In recent years, we’ve only rarely encountered communication issues due to weak GSM coverage or network quality. These situations were usually location-specific and had limited impact on buoy functionality. However, since 2024, new types of disruptions have emerged—especially in areas with advanced security technologies (e.g., anti-drone systems). These not only degrade GSM communication but can block it entirely. With the current global security climate, such cases are becoming more common. This is why we developed a UHF backup communication system, now available for both new buoys and as a retrofit kit for existing systems. | | | |
